China Sourcing Services
Our Sourcing Infrastructure — Ark Sourcing bridges the gap between premium Chinese factories and global SMBs. We provide:
-
Factory Audits: On-site verification of manufacturing capability and compliance.
-
Quality Control: First-article approval before the run starts, and AQL sampling before the goods are released.
-
DDP Logistics: Door-to-door delivery with freight and duty on separate lines rather than folded into one delivered number. Whether you are scaling your Garden Center or sourcing Building Materials, we make your landed cost predictable and your sourcing auditable.
What we do, start to finish
We work for whoever places the order. No supplier pays us, in any form — which is why we can tell you a factory is wrong for you.
Most orders run the same path:
- Spec first. Material grade, dimensions, finish, packaging, and the defects you won't accept — written down before anybody quotes.
- Shortlist. We start from 100+ vetted manufacturers across lawn and garden, building materials, and Christmas and holiday decoration, then narrow to two or three per SKU.
- Samples you hold. Not photos, and not a golden sample.
- Audit. $400–$500, paid by you, and I do it myself — on site, at the registered address, not subcontracted. Report in writing before you place a deposit.
- Consolidation and delivery. Several factories into one container, then DDP to your back room.
- Reverse sourcing. Already buying through a distributor? Send us the item and we'll source the equivalent factory-direct.
Two ways in — by category
Garden centers. Seasonal hardgoods are a calendar problem before they're a pricing problem. Planters, tools, décor and holiday have to land before the selling window opens, so the production slot matters more than a small price difference. We build the order backwards from the week you need it on the shelf — how a garden center builds a seasonal order from China is written up separately.
Building materials. Flooring, tile and windows are a weight problem instead. Freight often outweighs the product in landed cost, so fill rate and HS classification decide the number before the factory does. The same mechanics apply to building materials sourcing, with one difference: what fails is usually dimensional, and it fails at installation.
How low-MOQ consolidation works
Every factory quotes as though you're going to fill a container. You're not. low-MOQ consolidation is the fix: cartons from several factories arrive at one point, get counted and checked against one standard, and leave as a single load on one bill of lading.
Two costs. Your date becomes the slowest supplier's date — consolidation takes the worst lead time, not the average. And if one supplier fails pre-shipment sampling, the whole container gets held. Decide which way you'd go before you're standing in it.
What the money looks like
Factory price on one line, our fee on another. You see the factory's own invoice, not our summary of it. That's open-book pricing.
Quotes come broken out by material, tooling, labour and packaging — grade and quantity on the material line, not category; who owns the tooling. Retail-ready packaging means a UPC under a GS1 US company prefix registered in your name; a single GTIN is $30, and a prefix starts at $250 plus renewal.
Freight and duty stay outside the factory price, shown separately rather than folded into one delivered number. Section 301 tariffs on Chinese goods are under USTR's second four-year review, opened May 6, 2026 — tariff lists and exclusion deadlines change frequently, so verify current rates with your broker before placing a PO. (Checked October 2026.)
We're not a licensed importer of record, so your entry runs the way your broker already runs it. Our fee is quoted per project and agreed before you approve.
Where our quality control stops
Two checkpoints. We approve a first article before the run starts, and we sample against AQL before the goods are released. Photos and a written report each time.
That's the program. We don't keep someone on the floor every day, and we don't price the work as if we did. If your product needs that, say so at the start and we'll tell you plainly whether we're the right shop for it.
Start with one product
You don't need a program to test this. Pick one item you already buy and send it with what you pay today. We'll tell you what it costs to land at your volume, and straight out if it isn't worth moving.
That's a free sourcing audit: one product, written breakdown, no fee, no obligation, no call until you ask for one.
We reply to every inquiry within 24 hours — weekends and holidays included.
